Applying to move a series match

How a club applies to move a series match to another date, time or venue after the scheduling window has closed, who decides, what it costs, and what happens to the referees when the move is approved.

In series play the fixture list is fixed once it is published. A club that cannot play a match at the time or venue in the programme does not change the match itself — it sends a match-move application for that one match, and the competition administrator decides.

An application can ask for a new date and time, a new venue, or both, and it can carry a comment. Sending one changes nothing about the match: the fixture, the venue and the referees stay exactly as they are until the application is approved.

Three things happen the moment an application is sent:

  • The application appears on the match card under Match move applications, with the status sent, for everyone who can see that block.
  • The home team, the away team and the arranging team are e-mailed. The club address is mailed if the club has one, and so are the team's administrators.
  • If the federation has priced this service, an invoice line for the move is created for the applying club — see What a move costs.

The application is a request, not an agreement between the clubs. Profixio does not ask the opponent to press accept or reject anywhere. Instead the club that applies has to tick a box saying it has already informed the other teams, and the competition administrator makes the decision.

Applications are only possible in series run as Profixio League competitions. Stand-alone tournaments have no match-move flow: the organiser edits the match directly.

  • The home club setting time and venue inside the scheduling window, the deadlines for it and the reminders — see Setting times and venues for series matches. That is the normal route; match-move applications are what comes after it.
  • The league match list, its colours, filters and inline scheduling mode, where an administrator does the day-to-day work on series matches — see Administering series matches.
  • Appointing referees to series matches, nominations, acceptances and Buy & Sell — see Appointing referees across a series.
  • Editing a match directly: result, teams, comments, hiding it — see Editing a match and registering results.
  • Setting the match-move deadline itself, and the rest of the category and season settings — see Setting up a series season.
  • Invoicing the club for the fee that a match move creates — see Invoicing teams.
  • Moving matches in a stand-alone tournament, including drag-and-drop rescheduling and bulk moves — see Generating and scheduling matches.
