The tournament website: front page, pages, news and sponsors

How an organiser builds the public face of a tournament — the banner image and front-page text, your own information pages and the menu they appear in, news articles, the rules page, sponsor logos and the colour theme — and how to reuse the whole set from last year's edition.

Every tournament in Profixio has its own public website. Visitors reach it at the tournament's web name, and it is the page people land on from search, from a link you send out, and from the app.

The front page is built from a few pieces, and the organiser controls all of them:

  • a wide banner image at the top, with the tournament name, the dates and a place printed over it,
  • a short description under the name,
  • a longer front-page message,
  • buttons to matches, teams, referees and registration, which Profixio adds by itself as the tournament fills up,
  • your own information pages, shown as extra buttons and in the menu,
  • news articles,
  • sponsor logos at the bottom.

You do not build the page from scratch. A new tournament already has a working front page with a standard picture for your sport, and everything below is about replacing the standard parts with your own.

Editing anything on the website requires the right to change tournament settings for that tournament. Visitors, team leaders and players see the finished page only.

  • What visitors actually see and can do on the classes, schedule, results, tables, teams and facilities pages — see the page on the public tournament pages.
  • Messages, e-mail and SMS to teams and participants, including who receives what and address lists — see the page on communicating with participants. News articles on the website are public and reach nobody by e-mail.
  • The tournament's own settings — name, web name, dates, deadlines, registration rules, and the full Copy Pages screen — see the page on tournament settings.
  • Creating and publishing a tournament in the first place, including approval and why a new tournament is invisible — see the page on creating a tournament.
  • Club logos and team logos, which are a different picture with different rules — see the page on the club logo.
  • Venues, halls and maps shown on the site — see the page on facilities and logistics.
