The recorded walkthroughs of scheduling a league and a one-day cup in the Scheduler, from tournament dates and categories through restrictions, playoff and publishing, with each narration script reproduced in English.

Updated October 13, 2026

Seven recorded walkthroughs show the Scheduler (TXO) being used on a real league and a real cup, from signing in to publishing the schedule. All of them are narrated in Norwegian. The narration script of each recording is reproduced in English on this page, section by section, so you can follow the same steps without the recording.

Walkthrough Source title What it shows
Simple schedule for a volleyball league "Videosnutter Kampoppsett med TXO" (video clips: scheduling with TXO), clip "Enkelt kampoppsett - Volleyballserie" (simple schedule - volleyball league) 14 teams in 2 divisions playing every Tuesday: tournament dates, categories, fields, groups, one restriction and the first schedule
One-day cup "Kampoppsett - Enkel turnering (only in Norwegian)" (scheduling - simple tournament). Recording: Kampoppsett turnering over 1 dag A cup played on one day, with a travel restriction, anti-teams and an A and B playoff
Category data "Category data" / "Kategoridata" The three tabs for tournament dates, categories and fields
Making the schedule "Manus: Kampoppsett" (script: scheduling) Choosing groups, running the scheduler, reading the graphical view, moving and deleting matches
Adding restrictions "Manus: Hvordan legger man inn begrensninger" (script: how to add restrictions) Adding a time restriction for one team and how restricted matches are marked
Playoff "Manus: Sluttspill" (script: playoff) Building an A and a B playoff tree
Publishing the schedule "Publisere kampoppsett" (publish schedule) Evaluation link, publishing, e-mail to team leaders, notes and publishing history

The walkthroughs were recorded on tournaments run by the narrator, so the numbers, times and team counts in each script are that tournament's example values, not settings you must copy.

The league in the recording

  • A double round-robin league ("dobbel serie") played over a number of weeks, with one match per team per week.
  • 3 fields are available.
  • Every match has a match slot ("kampslot") of 90 minutes. How long the match is actually played makes no difference to the schedule.
  • Kick-off times are 18:30 and 20:00.
  • 14 teams, divided into two groups - or divisions, as they are usually called.
  • Several weeks are not played in: inactive weeks.
  • 2 teams cannot play late, so they must be restricted to the 18:30 kick-off.

Sign in and activate the league

  1. Go to Min Profixio and click "TXO logg inn" (TXO sign in).
  2. Activate the league. The next time you start TXO it remembers the last league you chose, so you do not need to activate it again.

"Turneringsdatoer" (tournament dates)

  1. Open the "Turneringsdatoer" tab to include every match day. Enter the week number for the start and the end, the inactive weeks, the match day, and the start and end time.
  2. The dates now appear in the table. You can change these dates as you like, add new ones and delete any that are wrong.

"Klasser" (categories)

  1. Open the "Klasser" tab and enter the match slot length. Leave the number of matches' pause ("Antall kamper pause") at 0, because each team plays only one match per day.
  2. Always click "Save changes" when you have finished editing.

"Baner og anlegg" (fields and venues)

  1. Open the "Baner og anlegg" tab. Here you can add more fields, delete fields and rename fields. Use the "New" button to add a field.
  2. Click into the panel to add or change venues. A field can be assigned to a category, but with only one category in this league that is not needed.

"Lag inndelt i puljer" (teams divided into groups)

  1. Open the "Lag inndelt i puljer" tab and click the category to see the teams that have registered.
  2. You can let the Scheduler divide the teams into groups automatically, and change the division simply by drag and drop.
  3. If you know one more team is coming, create a vacant team here. You can then simply swap the vacant team for the new team when it registers.
  4. To rename groups - for example so that group A is called "Divisjon A" - click "Endre navn på puljer" (rename groups), type the name you want and remember to save.

The scheduling window

  1. Open the scheduling window. It is divided into a graphical overview with the fields and days at the top, and a table of matches at the bottom.
  2. Start with the restriction for the two teams that cannot play late: go to "Snarveier" (shortcuts) and "Legg til begrensing" (add restriction). Restrictions can be set at different levels, such as team, club, field and so on.
  3. Select the two teams and switch on "Alle dager" (all days). Drag the slider to 20:00 so that you get a red line from 20:00 to 22:00. The red line means that no match can be played in that interval.
  4. Click "Lag oppsett" (make schedule). Switch on the categories and groups you want to schedule and click "Velg for kampoppsett" (select for scheduling).
  5. Tell the Scheduler that each team plays only one match per day: enter that in the field shown in the recording.
  6. Click "Lag kampoppsett" (make schedule). The Scheduler now builds a schedule that takes every criterion you have entered into account. Wait until it has finished; expect a couple of seconds per match.
  7. When the matches are placed you see them in the graphical area. For a better overview, switch off the days you do not need to see.
  8. Click a match box to see which teams are playing and where those two teams play next in the league. The orange area shows the restriction for the teams in the match you clicked - in this league, the two teams that cannot play after 20:00.
  9. In this window you can change matches simply by drag and drop.

Recording (Norwegian): Kampoppsett turnering over 1 dag (scheduling a tournament played over 1 day).

The cup in the recording

A simple cup played on one day. Some teams cannot play before 12:00 because of travel, and some teams must not meet each other. One category also has an A and a B playoff, each starting at the semi-finals.

Steps

  1. Sign in and activate the cup.
  2. Change the tournament days and times by clicking into the cells and editing them. Remember to save your changes afterwards - this applies in every window with tables like these.
  3. Set the data for the categories. We recommend entering the number of players for each category; the categories are then grouped, which makes it easier to change other data later.
  4. Enter the match length and the number of matches' pause a team must have before its next match. Note that the match length includes the pause before the next match - what we call the field pause ("banepause").
  5. Because one category has a playoff, enter the data for the playoff as well.
  6. Assign which fields each category may use. Enter your fields and the number of players each field is intended for. When all fields are entered, assign fields to categories. You can add more venues here.
  7. Divide the teams into groups: click a category and choose how many teams you want in each group. You can select several categories at once to save time.
  8. To move a team from one group to another, drag the team over and drop it on the orange top row. To swap two teams, drop the team on top of the team you want to swap with.
  9. Set the number of matches each team plays. If you leave 1 in the "Antall serier" (number of rounds) column, everyone plays everyone once.
  10. Add the A and B playoff: an A playoff between teams 1 and 4 and a B playoff between teams 5 and 8, created at the same time. When you close the window you see the A playoff; you switch between the A and B playoff as shown in the recording. To include the B final in the A playoff, drag its box in and place it under the final box. Save.
  11. Go to the scheduling menu. First add a time restriction for the team that cannot play before 12:00: select the team, the day and the time. A red line shows when the team cannot play. Save the restriction.
  12. Also select the teams that are to be anti-teams ("anti lag"). Anti-teams cannot play at the same time.
  13. Click the button to make the schedule, select the groups you want to schedule and confirm your selection. Click make schedule ("lag oppsett"), and after a few seconds the matches appear in the graphical visualizer.
  14. Click a box - a match - to see where the home team and the away team play. If you are not happy with where a match was placed, drag it to the place you want.
  15. When you are happy with the schedule, publish the matches to the public schedule page.

This walkthrough looks at the days, fields and categories function in the Scheduler, in the window shown below.

The window with the tournament dates, categories and fields tabs

The window has 3 tabs. Everything in them comes from the data you entered when the tournament was created; the walkthrough shows how to change it.

"Turneringsdatoer" (tournament dates)

  1. Tournament dates are entered in this list.
  2. To add a new day, click "Ny" (new) and enter the number of hours. Check that the end time is right. To remove a tournament day, click the delete button.
  3. To change the time of a day, double-click the cell you want to change. Both the date and the time can be changed.
  4. Tip: when you work on the schedule later, these times are what you work within, so it is better to add too many hours than too few.
  5. If you do not want a day to appear in the schedule, set it to inactive. The advantage is that it can be activated as soon as you want to extend the tournament with that day. Save when you are done.

"Klasser" (categories)

  1. The categories are sorted downwards. Tip: enter the number of players here, meaning whether the category plays 5-a-side, 7-a-side, 9-a-side and so on. This makes it easier to distribute fields among the categories.
  2. The match length and the number of matches' pause a team must have between its matches are entered here. Note that the match length is playing time plus the pause before the next match.
  3. If the category has a playoff, the desired start time and match length for the playoff are entered here.
  4. For categories you do not want a table shown for, hide it with the button shown in the recording.
  5. To merge categories, click the merge button shown in the recording.

"Baner" (fields)

  1. Fields are entered in this list. We recommend entering your venues first; the schedule is then easier to understand. Venues are created with the button shown in the recording. A check box lets you choose whether the venue name is shown in front of the field name.
  2. To add a field, use "Legg til nye baner" (add new fields). Choose the venue, type the field name and the number of fields you want.
  3. To save time, use "Tilordne baner automatisk" (assign fields automatically). For this to work, the number of players must be entered, as it was for the categories. Alternatively, choose which categories play on a field with "Velg klasse for valgte baner" (choose category for selected fields): mark the category that plays on the field and click "Tilordne baner til klasser" (assign fields to categories).
  4. To rename a field, click the cell and type the new name. You can also change which venue the field belongs to.
  5. Delete a field with the delete button. If you have several fields that are not used, click "Slett baner som ikke brukes" (delete unused fields).

When all data is in place it is time to make the schedule. "All data" means everything from how long matches are played, the division into groups, the assignment of fields and time restrictions, to a playoff setup if there is one. The script gives a simple introduction to making a schedule.

Choose groups and run the scheduler

  1. Open the schedule dialog. You usually make the schedule for the group play first. Click the groups you want to schedule; click a group again to remove it from the selection.
  2. If you want a certain number of matches per day, enter that number in the field shown. If you want those matches to start, or to be finished, after a certain time, choose the time here.
  3. When you are happy, click the button to make the schedule. TXO now makes a schedule from all the data you have entered.

Read the graphical view

  1. All matches are now placed with a time and a field. Days are shown horizontally and fields vertically. Matches are shown as boxes: blue boxes are group play, green boxes are playoff.
  2. Zoom in on one day by double-clicking the background of that day, or choose which days to show.
  3. Double-click a match to see all the matches in its group; they turn dark blue.
  4. Click a match to get a visual picture of the teams in the match and of the group's matches. The red rectangle is the home team and the white one is the away team. You can see which teams they are on the line shown in the recording, or in the upper list. It is now easy to see where each team plays.
  5. Warnings are shown with symbols, for example when a team does not get enough pause between two matches, or when two anti-teams play at the same time. A team playing two matches at the same time is shown with a red line - you must avoid this. The colour symbols are explained in detail on the page about reading and filtering the schedule.

Move matches

  1. To move a match, take hold of it and drag it to the time and field you want.
  2. To move several matches, hold down the CTRL key while clicking the matches one after another. To move a block of matches, hold down the SHIFT key and drag a rectangle over the matches you want to move.
  3. When you are happy, save the schedule by clicking save.
  4. To move one or more matches by a set number of minutes, enter the number of minutes in the field shown and click the arrow in the direction you want to move them.

Schedule the remaining groups

  1. Click the schedule button again to see which groups have no matches yet. Groups that have been scheduled are green; groups that have not are still blue.
  2. Continue in the same way with the rest of the groups: first select the groups, then make the schedule, then adjust the placement if needed.
  3. While you work, it is a good idea to save before making larger moves in the schedule.

Delete matches

  1. To delete matches, open the menu and click delete selected matches. You can also delete all matches at once, or select matches in the match list and click the delete button. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.

Adding restrictions is an important tool for tournament organisers when they set up a tournament. Teams that cannot play before a given time, field pauses and so on can prevent a team from playing at a given time; when that is the case, create a restriction. Do not add so many restrictions that the schedule becomes impossible to make.

  1. Click "Snarveier" (shortcuts), then "Legg til begrensning" (add restriction).
  2. To check whether any teams have left a comment about when they cannot play, use the filter function on this page.
  3. In the recording, one team cannot play before 12:00 on the first tournament day because of travel time. Click that day.
  4. Use the line that appears to select the time interval to restrict: drag it so that it covers the time when the team cannot play. Then click the save button.
  5. The restriction is now created. For an overview of all restrictions, click the overview button shown in the recording.

If a match with a restriction is moved into the restricted time, an orange hatched area is shown. Every match that lies inside a restriction has an orange square in its match box.

In the recording, two of the categories are to have an A and a B playoff.

  1. First choose the category to make a playoff for, then the playoff level and the number of teams that take part in the playoff.
  2. The playoff tree opens. It shows which category you are working with, with its number of teams, groups and the playoff level.
  3. To swap two teams, drag one team onto the team you want to swap it with.
  4. To add a new match, drag the box shown in the recording and drop it where you want a playoff match to be played. In the recording it is placed as a bronze final. Remember to save.
  5. To change, for example, the match length of one particular playoff match, do it in the place shown in the recording.
  6. Make the B playoff in exactly the same way as the A playoff, but choose a different playoff level. Choosing the A level again would replace the A playoff you just saved.

When your schedule is finished, what remains is to publish it so that it becomes visible on your public schedule page. This is done in the publishing tab.

  1. First you can publish an evaluation schedule. Send the e-mail to your colleague; the e-mail contains a link to the schedule, and only people with that link can see it.
  2. To publish the schedule, click the publish button. The whole schedule is then shown on your tournament page.
  3. Then you can send an e-mail to the team leaders telling them the schedule is ready. The text is a standard text and can be changed if you wish.

Other actions on the same tab:

  • Publish for groups only.
  • Delete the schedule from the tournament page. This is often used after a test publish that you want to remove.
  • Reset the schedule: the public schedule is deleted first, and then the new schedule is transferred from TXO.
  • Write notes. The note is shown at the top of the schedule page and is typically information such as "kamper på bane 3 er flyttet til bane 8" (matches on field 3 have been moved to field 8).
  • The history of publications is in the panel at the bottom of the page.

If you change the schedule after publishing, click the same publish button again; the changes are then updated on the tournament page. It is a good idea to also send a message about the matches affected by the changes.

The walkthroughs are guided tours of one league and one cup, and the narrator's own closing advice is to use the help pages actively for everything they skip. The full reference for each step lives on its own page: signing in and activating a tournament on "What TXO is and signing in", the three setup tabs on "Dates, categories, fields and match length", groups and vacant teams on "Dividing teams into groups and seeding" and "Teams, clubs and vacant teams", restrictions and anti-teams on "Restrictions and anti-teams", the playoff tree on "Building the final play", the scheduler and its settings on "Making the schedule", the colour symbols and filters on "Reading and filtering the schedule", moving and deleting matches on "Moving, switching and deleting matches", and the publishing tab, e-mails and notes on "Publishing, messages and reports".
